The scheme has two storage reservoirs located at Carn, Ballyjamesduff and Croaghan, Virginia. The two reservoirs have a combined storage volume of 2650 m3 or 584,760 gallons when full. The water is pumped from Carn Reservoir at night to Croaghan Reservoir, which serves the Knocktemple, Maghera, Island, Munterconnacht and Ballyduorrow areas.
Raw water is extracted from Nadreegeel Loughs by Cavan County Council (Irish Water)

A number of different types of water meters have been used throughout the scheme. The meters only vary in appearance, as they all function the same.

CMM GWS purchases the finished water product from Irish Water (Cavan County Council) The raw water is extracted from Nadreegeel Loughs by Cavan County Council (Irish Water). The raw water is then pumped to the Lismeen Water Treatment Plant.
